As part of the collaboration with Harriet and Esteban Vicente Foundation, Museo Reina Sofía calls for an annual research fellowship.

The aim of the fellowship is to promote research into the work and career of the artist Esteban Vicente (Turégano, Segovia, 1903 – Brigdehampton, New York, 2001), as well as his context, influences, and role within the international modern and contemporary art scene.

The residency will have a duration of twelve months and is endowed with €21.000. The research project does not require continuous on-site presence at the Museum and may, where appropriate to the needs of the research, be carried out in other locations.

Both individual and collective applications are welcome, and can be submitted in either English or Spanish. Applicants must hold an official university graduate degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in History, Art History, Fine Arts, Humanities, or a related field.
