Candidates must propose a research project whose subject makes it possible to enrich the knowledge of the history of art in Madagascar. The scholarship can be used to partially fund ongoing research, but the submitted project can also take other forms: artist monograph, study of a body of works, archival or photographic collections that are new or unknown. Candidates may also submit a research topic that covers Malagasy heritage preserved in one or more museums in France.

The recipient will receive a monthly grant of EUR 1 000 and a flat-rate grant of EUR 5 000 for field trips, for a total amount of EUR 17 000.

This scholarship is intended, without conditions of nationality, to researchers at the beginning of their university courses (master, doctoral, post-doctors) engaged in research on the history of art in Madagascar during the period from the 19th to the 21st century.
