The department of Prof. Dr. Tristan Weddigen at the Bibliotheca Hertziana is pleased to offer Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships for the 2026/27 academic year.

Under the overarching theme of Art of the Modern Age in a Global Context, the department welcomes projects addressing – but not limited to – one of its five research priorities: Rome Contemporary, Materiality and Mediality, Italy in a Global Context, Transnational History of Art History, and Digital Visual Studies.

Applicants should be at an early stage in their career and can propose a funding period of three to twelve months. Scholarship recipients may request an extension through a new application, provided that the total duration of the scholarship does not exceed twelve months.
