Within the framework of the Junior Professor Chair “Olfactions”, the University of Grenoble Alpes is offering a 3-years doctoral funding for a thesis in history or art history at the Rhône-Alpes Historical Research Laboratory (LARHRA). Focusing on the history of perfumery in Italy in the 19th century, the doctoral thesis will first outline the main stages in the development of perfumery in the different regions of Italy, or a selection of them depending on the corpus identified.
The thesis must be written in French, but the candidate is expected to be fluent in Italian and to have a Master’s degree in history or art history related to the subject (history of techniques, senses, representations, etc.).
