Preise und Stipendien

This call for applications is addressed to young researchers whose work focuses on the art of the modern period (1905-1960) and who offer original perspectives, either through choice of subject matter or the angle adopted. Special consideration will be given to a wide-ranging approach to art in the context of the study of cosmopolitan modernity in Paris.

The École des Modernités research residencies provide researchers with a studio apartment at the Institut Giacometti in Paris (14th arrondissement), for a period of 3 weeks (doctoral and post-doctoral research – extendable to 6 weeks, on justified request) or 1 week (pre-doctoral research, Master's level).

Two types of residencies are being offered:
1. Research residencies at doctoral and post-doctoral level:
- Residencies lasting 3 weeks, which may be extended to 6 weeks upon justified request and in agreement with the head of the École des Modernités

2. Research residencies at pre-doctoral level (Master’s 1 or 2):
- Residencies lasting 1 week, which may be extended to 2 weeks upon justified request and in agreement with the head of the École des Modernités

Residencies are available all year round.
